Blue
Room |

Decorating
Tips
- An inexpensive way to give a canopy look without the heavy
feel of a canopy bed. Often a child's room is too small to
carry off a large canopy bed---but your kids love the look.
The solution: rods are afixed to the ceiling and to both sides
of the walls. Sheer white fabric is draped through the rods
and puddled on the floor.
- Paint your walls and use white as the unifying color. Your
room will pull together quickly.

Cat in the Hat Room |
|
|

Decorating
Tips
- This nursery is bright and crisp in colors of red, white
and black---only two focal walls are striped.
- An artist painted the Cat which is truly the highlight of
the room.
- If you can't find an artist consider our Cat in the Hat
art. On the opposite side of the room this art is used.
- The great thing about this theme---it will grow with your
child from nursery to 2nd grade---and that's what you want
longevity.

Lime Room |
|
Lime
Room |

Decorating
Tips
- We love the bold use of color with the 3 electric patterned
fabrics---lime green, black and turquoise.
- Black shutters were attached to the standing mirror. Visually
it gives a more dramatic impact to the corner.
- A rod was attached over the bed---2 glass chimes were added---with
a picture anchoring the middle.
- A clever use of frames over the dresser in lieu in a mirror.
These mirrors have no backing!!! It is the frame with glass
only. Best of all the picture is wrapping paper. The art seems
to float on the wall.
- A small wooden sign---AWESOME---gives the window seat a
punch.

Princess
Room |

Ribbons
and Bows |

Decorating
Tips
- Buy a ready made comforter and buy fabric in coordinating
prints. A pastel plaid and solid pink were chosen for this
room. Get a custom look for a fraction of the cost.
- This room is over the top. Three different patterned wall
papers, coordinating pictures and signs, and a bed filled
with princess pillows.
- Consider our Fairy Tales Do Come True Signs on the Princess
page.

Bright Flower Room |

Bright
Flower Room |

Decorating
Tips
- It's all about bold flowers in this room from the bedding
to the drapery panels
- A wall shelf spans above the bed with bright colored plates
that are right in step with this bold room.
- The drapery panels couldn't be cuter as a wire embellishment
was sewn in for extra flower detail. That same wire flower
embellishment was used on the dresser.
- Once again, a great example of an inexpensive frame (with
frame and glass only) and a peice of coordinating wrapping
paper---as the featured print. Can't find a picture---think
wrapping paper.

Garden
Trellis Room |

-
Use what you have for your dance room.
Here a tutu and hair scrunchie and ballet shoes were used
in a shadow box.
-
Soccer shirts, baseball or football jerseys
are also candidates for the shadow box-and nothing is
more personal that using their things.
|
|
- There are several things that we like about this room.
- First, inexpensive solid color bedding is used and mixed
with floral and solid color pillows.
- Three very inexpensive plates are used over the twin bed.
In our photo archive we have several rooms, where plates have
been used very effectively.
- A shade slightly lighter than the bedding is used on the
walls---not the exact color.
- A garden trellis from the home store was used and decorated
with a lilac floral vine.

Princess |
|
|
| |
|
-
Wallpaper is making a comeback. The
upper 2/3 of the wall is wallpaper and the bottom is
in a matching yellow---white bead board trim separates
the two.
-
The trick is to create visual impact.
Flower wall pegs are used with princess boas, necklaces,
hats, and veils. These same pegs can be found on our
pegs page.

Circles in Child's Nursery |

Decorating
Tips
|
|
- More circles, this time using varying sizes.
- Diamond squares inside the circles were made of felt and
glued in the center.
- Use a fine point paint brush to connect a vertical line
between the circles. It appears that the circles are floating
from the ceiling.
- Your color may not be brown---but consider the colors of
your room.
- This provides a great graphic element to your room.

Beach
Room |

Decorating
Tips
- Not all art has to go on the wall.
- Great easels can be found now that will bring art to a child's
level.
- A starfish and shell garland are used on the easel and a
beach sign sits beneath---each one seals the deal and let's
you know that you are in a beach room!
|
|

-
Here an oversized mirror was painted
white and took a mirror from very ornate to shabby chic.
Spray paint is your friend and will take a mismatched
item to perfect.
-
Behind the mirror-it must be securely
fastened so it will not tip.
-
Look for the white rug on our solid
color rug page.

Decorating
Tips
- There is an expresssion in athletics---Go Big or Go Home,
in this room it is Go Bold or Go Home!
- Buy a mirror that doesn't match the furniture.
- They have used a decorative hook and painted it white to
hang the mirror.
- Ribbon is used to attach the mirror to the hook.
|
|

Decorating
Tips
- It's all about color in this room. White, however, is the
unifying color which is used in the furniture and moldings.
- Notice the prints used above the bed. These frameless pictures
are wonderful. No expensive frames or matting and no glass
to break. The look is clean and crisp.
- Oosy Daisy Art can be found on our products page.

Sophisticated
Parisian Room |

Decorating
Tips
- Green Apple gets more hits to our Ooh La La Room than any
other, so when we found this room we knew it would be a winner.
- The framed mirror is embellished with the word-Imagine.
Yes, it's a wall word.
- A great desk area, with a fabric skirt, hides away even
more treasures.
- Simple black wall drapes with black and turquoise ribbon
were tied to hooks that act as a drapery holder.
|
|
|

|
|
|
|
| |
- How simple!
- The room is painted so you see the striking color contrast.
You don't want white walls and white rods.
- These simple and inexpensive rods were painted white to
match the other accessories in the room. Small bracelets,
watches and key chains were added
- The rods are about 18" and the spacing is about 6".
Visually you have filled up wall space with very personal
treasures.

Disney
Room |
-
First, bead board and dramatic wall color
are in this season. Consider, however, a wide bead board
width, as used in this room.
-
Costumes and boas were hung on hooks and
are used as wall decoration for this nook in a Disney
inspired room.
-
Can use dance recital dresses, princess
tutus, or dress up costumes.
-
Consider our princess tutus and boas found
on the princess page.
